That’s right, T&A Exotics has a new addition!
Everyone give Molly a warm welcome! She’s another boa constrictor, except she brings a new gene to the party.
Molly is an anery motley 66% het for albino. The new gene is obviously motley.
What’s the motley gene you might ask?
The Motley Boa is a Genetic pattern mutation of the Boa. It is a fusion of dorsal striping with no side pattern, and pin stripes. It has circles on the back as opposed to the common squares or diamonds normally found on boa constrictors. Motleys show more of a lavender/silver color as opposed to the common brown boas that we now call a “wild type” or “normal”. The Motley was a Colombian boa imported as a baby in 1994. A Florida Breeder picked it up and named it the Motley Boa because it strongly resembles the Motley cornsnake in pattern. Breeding Motleys together produces Super Motleys, and it has been determined that they are a Co-Dominant gene and that super motleys are fatal.
If you remember, the Anery gene is the lack of red pigment, so with the Motley gene, Molly is very chromatic in appearance.
She was brought in to eventually be pared up with Bob.
The combo of IMG, and Motley makes some nice dark boas, and adding in the Anery on top of that, and we are excited to produce some dark snakes!
Not to mention that Molly could also be carrying the albino gene, which would also give you chances of hitting an IMG Motley Moonglow if the odds were in our favor!
So, here is to raising up Molly!
