normally you wouldn’t want to move your snakes right at breeding season, but that is exactly what we did.
So, if you usually don’t want to do that, then why are you? You might ask…
We at T&A are expecting a baby of our own in December. So, we now need a room for a baby, and that will be the room we currently keep our snakes in.
The snakes will be moved to another part of the house, which is a converted garage. So, we will have plenty of expanding room, but it might cost a little more to heat. The new room is probably twice the size of the old room.
We are hoping that the cool down of the new room, along with the breeding season will make the switch go more smoothly, and help kick start breeding activity. You can hope, right?
We bought 2 more cages, one for Medusa and one for Bob. So they will be moving into there adult homes as well.
Unfortunantly Bobs cage is going to take a few extra weeks to come in, but that isn’t a big deal for us, since he’ll be spending a lot of time in Janes cage anyways. 😉
For room heat we are using an oil filled heater that is plugged in to a thermostat. It is set to 75, and everyone else either has belly heat, or a radient heat pannel for hot spots.
Other than the room switch, we are keeping things as close to the same as we can for now, so hear is hoping everything runs as planned!
