Febuary 2016 weighing!

It’s that time again, what sometimes is one of the most fun parts in our opinion about feeding snakes and that’s watching them grow!.

We weigh the snakes just to keep records, we feel you can never have too much data. (Keep an eye out because we will also be posting measurements of how long the snakes are soon as well.)

With that being said, lets start the results, shall we?

Fat Girl

Fatgirl, a Hypo female Ball Python.

So, at the start of the year, she weighed 1,030 grams, and has still not eaten. (We believe she also shed during this month.)

So, it’s not surprising to see she has again lost weight. She is now down to 965 Grams. We are in the process of changing some things up in hopes to trigger her feeding response soon, so stay tuned for that!

Little Man.

At the start of Jan, he weighed 684 Grams, and only ate once I believe, so his new weight of 703 Grams while disappointing, is not unexpected.

Bob!

Last month we have Bob weighing 570 Grams, so a gain of only 30 grams for a weight of 600 Grams means he slowed down on the weight gain this month.

Pablo!

Pablo in January weighed 628 Grams, and now weighed 710 grams for a gain of about 82 Grams.
This seems to be about the same growth rate he has been showing the last few months.

Pee Wee!

Pee Wee last month weighed in at 642 Grams, and gained 47 grams, to make a total weight of 689 Grams. This does seem to be less of a weight gain than normal.

A fun fact about Pee Wee is, this month 2 years ago we brought her home, and she weighed a hole 70 grams, she no longer looks like the little noodle we brought home. 🙂

Medusa!

She weighed 773 Grams last month, and gained 80 Grams, for a total weight of 853 grams.

Medusa is quickly leaving the others in the dust. She continues to have good weight gains, and is just an all around great snake!

Jane!

We forgot to zero out the container with the snake bag, so the weight in the recording is also including the weight of the snake bag Jane is in. (oops).

Her weight actually went from 2240 Grams, to 2320 Grams. A gain of 80 Grams. Honestly we are a little surprised she only gained 80 Grams this month.

Thoughts

So, not too bad as a whole, but some lost more than I’d like, like Fat Girl, and others didn’t gain as much as I was thinking, like Bob and Jane.

Hopefully we will be able to get Fat Girl eating in the next few weeks, and the others will continue to eat and grow!.

So, until next time, keep it interesting.
